What can you say about an American institution? I love the food. The prices are reasonable. The biscuits and the potato casserole thing are what you go for. Kitchy little store next door sells all kinds of random stuff. Got some bacon jerky cuz why not. When in rome. Gotta go at least once in your life.

Been here a few times have not always had a great meal but todays was delicious! I had the pot roast meal and desert, one of the best blk berry cobblers I have ever had!

Extremely disappointed in the service and the quality of the food. Its been a slow process over time, but this location has gone downhill. After my visit today I won't be returning to this location. Better food and better service is readily available in the area.

Went to this location for the first time last week. This place makes you feel like you're home away from home. The food was good and the staff was nice. I like how they keep all their restaurants looking exactly the same.

The staff was very friendly. There was enough choices for everyone in our party to be happy. Food was very good homestyle cooking. The serving sizes were amazingly large (easily could have split between two). The little gift store was fun and pretty reasonable. I was able to get a couple of little gifts to bring home. I wish we had one in the So Cal area.

Sweet tea was what made the experience pleasure me. Food was ok, but not great. Service was very nice, slow. Took 15 minutes for a refill. Coming from Vegas; would come again, if it was the only thing around. I would come in and try it for yourself if you haven't already just for the experience.

I've known many people who really like their food - so take this review with a grain of salt. (You'll need it for seasoning their bland food anyway) Here's the thing - I have a pesky little food allergy. I try desperately to make as small of a deal out of it, but I have two choices...I can either express my concerns, or never eat outside of my own home. I'll cut to the chase. I was clear with the waitress that I had a restricted diet...asked about a particular dish...asked again after getting a mumbled, half-a$$ed answer...then made a comment about how I'd hoped she was correct - lest I got sick. Between the not-so-subtle eye rolling and huffing, she assured me 3 x that this particular dish was safe for people with my allergies. By the first bite, I knew there was trouble. In fact, they put this cream of something soup base in the casserole; most cream of anything soups contain wheat...the main instigator of my pesky little food allergy. Long story endless, waitress CLEARLY didn't care...chef blamed ME for not being clearer about my allergy...and manager tried whisking us out of there quickly so we didn't embarrass him or cause a scene. On top of that, the few bites of food my husband did get to eat before we left weren't good (his words, not mine). Oh...funny thing about the incident. The manager offered us a gift certificate good towards $20 off our next dinner. Because after a restaurant has "poisoned" you - all you can think about is returning?? Never eating outside my home again sounded like the right answer after this incident... :-(

OMG is all I can say. Everything we ordered was delicious. We have been to "higher-end" restaurants in Prescott and PV, but this by far is superior. Pork chops and ribs, turnip greens, mac & cheese, excellent. We were also asked about vinegar choices for the greens, and out came some Tabasco Pepper Vinegar that was a very nice surprise. We had plenty to take home for 2 more meals. The food, service, and prices all in all were just right. No complaints at all. Actually my first impression of this restaurant years ago, was not so good and very reluctant to return; however, my opinion has changed drastically for this little gem. We will definitely be returning.

A huge disappointment eating breakfast here. Watered down coffee, soggy, greasy, yet tasteless French toast. Maple syrup that lacked any real maple flavored...oh look it contains a blend of cane sugar....no wonder. Why eat here when there are many better options. Cracker Barrel represents southern cooking at it's worst, and unhealthy eating at it's best.

I've been to this Cracker Barrel twice. Both visits were similar. Very friendly staff, reasonably quick service. LOW prices, good sized portions, and possibly the largest variety of any restaurant in the area. (The number of side dish choices alone is over 20.) So based on that, I would say that if you are looking for traditional American food, comfort food, or country cooking, this may be your best choice in the area. There really is something for everyone in the family--Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner--and definitely a cut above someplace like Golden Corral. Personally I'm not a fan of this style of food when eating out, but they do a decent job. 3 STAR = A-OK

Does this even need to be rated? We had an amazing breakfast at very reasonable prices. The service was friendly and quick. We visited on a Sunday at 9am and we were seated right away. I had the egg sandwich. It was perfect for hitting the road for a long trip. My husband had the French toast and loved it. The only other note to add: the biscuits!!! The biscuits alone make the visit worth it.

Raw chicken livers, cold pinto beans and turnip greens and mediocre service at best. The manager did apologize however.

Cannot believe the positive reviews. This place is totally FAKE - hello This is a national CHAIN restaurant NOT a country store or local diner! For Petes Sake! There are super diners in Prescott - that are clean & enjoyable with home made food but this is the opposite Its a theme park of what used to be rural America The day I visited there was a dangerous sewage smell seeping out frim the bathrooms into the gift shop - Really gross. The gift shop had nothing made by hardworking enterprising American workers. So much for the little country store The service was fine. As for the table & food - not particularly clean table nor was the food flavorful. Didnt get violently ill but the meal didnt "sit well" & felt uncomfortable for 2 days after eating there Do yourself a favor - Drive right past the suburban sprawl & cracker Barrel & get your breakfast at an authentic well-run diner in central Prescott Support a real Anerican town & local business - not this fraud

The food is always amazing and the service is just off the charts. They hire the most friendly people. Wish every place had customer service like this. Been here three times now and will always come back when I visit because they make me feel at home.

Do not go here! I only have bad things to say about this place. I got the apple cinnamon french toast and let me tell you it was the worst decision I have ever made to get at a restaurant! It was good until I got back to my friends home. I went to bed feeling very ill and had a horrible headache and upset stomach. This did not come on until I left the restaurant. I ended up waking up at 2 in the morning feeling extremely nauseous and felt sick to my stomach right when I stood up from bed. Long story short, I ended puking my guts up. Literally I could not stop puking and it just so happened that I was puking the french toast I ordered from here! NEVER coming back here again! Stay away unless you want food poising like me! I have NEVER gotten food poisoning until eating here!

Giant portions, fresh/ delicious food, super friendly employees.... what else could you ask for??? We came with other family members so we were appreciative they were able to assist us so quickly. I got the french toast and egg breakfast which was absolutely fantastic!! Instead of ordering 2 kids meals, the waitress suggested we split an adult's meal to save a little money (and even end up with more food) which was definitely appreciated! The family had a great time trying one another's dishes and it is really difficult to say which one I liked the best!! Their store has a lot of unique items that are very reasonably priced. The girls were even decided to pick out some really neat things and pay for it with their allowance money! I guess I will just have to go back that much sooner so I can treat myself to a few things next time! ;-)

Well...I have eaten here twice since I left my review. Everytime I go here I get treated with friendliness and professionalism. The food is down home southern style and is authentic. Cracker Barrel was started in Tennessee and this place has Tennessee and the south in general written all over it. I can't say enough good things about this place I will continue to eat here every once in a while especially when I'm starving because of the huge portions. Please excuse some of the reviews that are written by wanna be fake professional reviewers that are blotted all over Yelpville and remember that there are real people you are reviewing and your reviews could possibly impact them financially in very negative ways. Is that what you really want to do? Let's start telling the Jerkoff Yelpers that we don't want them here and make Yelpville something special instead of a den of vipers. Cracker Barrel is a National Chain Restaurant that serves very good food!

Took my date who'd never been to Cracker Barrel before. I've been to this location and love the breakfasts. The pancakes are truly amazing. They might not be as light and fluffy as other places, but the edges are crispy. The biscuits were light and buttery. Definitely highly recommended for breakfast.

We were driving through on vacation and had to see what all the fuss is about. Pretty decent all the way around.

Was in Prescott / Prescott Valley. I am sure that there better local choices, but had a big group and a lot of kids with us. Large choice of breakfast items. All the standard fare is represented. I had a typical egg, potato, and toast plate. Everything was prepared well. Nothing was spectacular, but everything was good.

The country store is nice with a lot of gifts and things. The host seated us right away and was pretty friendly. The food selection was decent with many country style dishes. I tried the sampler with chicken dumplins', country ham and meatloaf. It was a little bland but ok. The food came out really fast. My bf ordered their special of the day which was the fish fry. He got cod which was pretty good. It was flavorful and crispy without being too oily. His dish was definitely better than mine. The gal said their biscuits were good but I thought they were pretty plain and bland. Needed some salt or something... Overall, an ok place, decent... I'd go more for the nostalgia of the country store.

We've eaten here a few times on our way through Prescott Valley back to Phoenix. The service is always very good; fast, efficient and friendly. One of my favorite sides is the turnip greens, but I also like the fried okra, steak fries and the rest. This time I had the meatloaf for my entree and it was outstanding!

We moved to PV in the middle of March. This was our first PV restaurant. I had seen them in the South, so I was familiar with the name. We have been there untold number of times since then!! No matter what you order, it is very good. Wife and I go there when we don't want to chance a local place and need a good experience. Staff are friendly and the food is very good.... all for an affordable price.

The food here is terrible. Despite being a chain, most cracker barrels have a good reputation. The service was decent, but maybe they should spend less time on their country store and more on the food. My Mom ordered a hamburger steak with some green beans. The beans were so overcooked, they were literally falling apart-disgusting. Both her steak and my country fried steak were dry, overcooked and tasteless. Macaroni? They overcooked that too-mush. Even the cornbread was overcooked, tasteless and dry. What the hell is going on at this place? We spoke to the manager and let him know all of this. He offered another meal but we refused. Who wants another meal like this?

I typically like Cracker Barrel. I want to start off with that because it's going to go downhill from here. We got into this place tonight about 7:00pm. We wondered around the store for a few minutes and then we went to get seated. We were seated and they quickly got our drinks and water. Then we waited for someone to take our order...and waited...and waited. 20 minutes later we were finally greeted by our waitress as she rushed past us to another table. This is a Tuesday night. There were only three tables that had people at them. Once she finally made here way over to take our order she wrote it all down and that was pretty much the last we saw her for about 30 minutes. All we ordered was 2 salads, 2 slices of pie, a cup of hot tea and a hot chocolate and an order of biscuits and apple butter. Not a complex order. When she finally brought our food out she pretty much blamed me for the slowness of the order because of having the audacity to order biscuits. This is only one of the signature things they make at this chain. She told me it would be a few minutes longer for the biscuits. Everything looked fine for the most part. They finally about 10 minutes later brought out the biscuits with a little tiny cup of apple butter with 1 tablespoon of apple butter in it. As soon as she set it down, I told her that I will need at least two more of those little cups of apple butter. She left and 5 minutes later returned and asked if we needed anything else. I reminded her again that I needed more apple butter. Finally 10 minutes later, my mother in law marched back to the kitchen to see if she could procure some apple butter for me. The waitress said "Oh, yeah, that's what I came back here for," and promptly got her the apple butter. The manager came by at the end of the meal and asked how everything was and we told him to which he gave us a very curt and off handed "Sorry." He then went off to talk to the waitress and then came back and basically said, "Sorry" again and asked rather rudely "what do you want me to do?" I've honestly not ever been that irritated at a restaurant. Granted this was a one time experience but I will never go to this restaurant location again.
